The BEST PLACE on EARTH!!
Traverse City, Michigan is the most beautiful place on Planet Earth, and Traverse City real estate is a serious bargain in comparison to virtually anywhere else in America.
There, I said it.
Granted, I am a native of Traverse City. I married a beautiful Traverse City woman, and I am an expert in the Traverse City real estate market - so I'm more than a little biased about the value of the Grand Traverse area and its real estate.
But this place is incredible!!
Traverse City is a great place for families, professionals, retirees, musicians and artists, farmers and fishermen, filmmakers, and outdoor enthusiasts. Traverse City is the cultural, financial, recreational, commercial and industrial center of Northern Michigan, and enjoys a vibrancy you would not expect in a community this size.
With Northwestern Michigan College, the NMC Univeristy Center, the Great Lakes Maritime Academy, and the Interlochen Center for the Arts campuses in and around Traverse City, plus the National Cherry Festival, and the Traverse City Film Festival, and the Michigan Schooner Festival, and the Traverse City Comedy Arts Festival, and the Traverse City Wine & Art Festival, and the Dunegrass Music Festival (I'm only just scratching the surface here), you can start to get a sense of what Traverse City offers: a social, intellectual, business and cultural community that is second to none in the Northern Mid-West.
Traverse City's downtown neighborhoods are full of historical, turn-of-the-twentieth century homes and growing businesses. The Slabtown Neighborhood on Traverse City's west side, the Central and Boardman neighborhoods surrounding downtown, and the College and Traverse Heights neighborhoods on the east side, each offer unique settings for in-town living and their own particular advantages.
Gorgeous Old Mission Peninsula is likened to Napa Valley in California, sitting on a peninsula in the Grand Traverse Bay of Lake Michigan. With its fruit orchards and vineyards straddling the picturesque hillsides, and East and West Bays lapping along the sandy beaches, Old Mission Peninsula real estate is some of the most sought after in all of the Midwest.
Further east are East Bay and Acme Townships, and the ever-popular Mt. Holiday ski area and the VASA system of recreational trails. The Grand Traverse Resort and newly revamped Turtle Creek Casino Hotel, both owned and operated by the Grand Traverse Band of Ottowa and Chippewa Indians, offer outstanding gaming, dining, and entertainment opportunities on Traverse City's east side also.
